Years ago there was an amusement park by Jenks. My husband went to it several times as a kid. It was long gone before I ever moved to the area.

I wonder if they are going to try for Bell's or get something new going?

This will make things very interesting indeed.

The plot thickens.... [}:)]

This is an old drawing....the new one has the face with the tounge sticking out with a sign that says "naa naa naa naa boo boo!"  on the Jenks side.

Yeah that picture is old, it came out as part of the incog master plan. other renderings of the same area don't show it. My have just been drawn after the bell's/jenks story first came out.

I loved that place. The roller coaster hit 60mph if I remember right.  Plenty fast enough for a tweener. It cost a dime in the early 60's. The lake is still there and  a building rented out for meetings/weddings etc.

World article update on Bell's

Again 'Bells' says Sand Springs and Broken Arrow are in the play, but I have a good source at BA that says they are uninterested and another with Tulsa County who says he was contacted by a Sand Springs official who indicated he/she had heard nothing from Bell's.

According to the Tulsa World, Sand Springs has been in touch with Bell's.  The STAR Center (former Hissom site) has been proposed as a potential site: Sand Springs pushes STAR Center as site for amusement park.

That is good to know, I hope that they can make that work out.

Is Sand Springs serious? I must say that placing six or seven aged rides out in the middle of BFE on the site of an old residential facility is not what I would call an exciting idea.

I do not have it out for Bell nor do I want to see him fail.  In reality, the only thing I care about is Zingo and the maltreatment Bell has suffered at the hands of Dick/Miller.

This may be irrelevant if the deal with Sand Springs goes through, but here's a little idea I thought of:
If Bell's moved to about 81st St. South on the west side it could be near the Riverwalk and still have plenty of room to expand. I think if Bell's, the Riverwalk (with phase 2 actually finished), the aquarium, and expanded Creek Nation Casino were all connected by a water taxi, the whole area would make for a decent entertainment destination. This is what the Riverwalk really needs-- to be part of an entertainment destination instead of trying to serve as an entertainment destination itself. The whole area could be called "Riverside South," and marketed as one entity. Of course, that low water dam would help this a lot, too.

Anynoe got a map of where the "star center" is? Preferably to see it in relation to the incog river development and the sand spring corridor development.

It should be the complex seen here between Highway 51 and the river, north of the intersection of S 137th W Ave and Highway 51:

Bells was obviously squeaking by. Baseless money computations aside, Robbie needed to fix up the park or shut it down for some time. He chose to maintain Status Quo too long.
