You're a talented photographer. A couple of those pictures were surreal. Centennial 28 reminds me of a scene from the original batman or something; in a good way, of course. Seriously, check it out again, it's a wild shot!

Do you mean my pbase gallery? It's a photographer's site.

Thanks, Centennial 28 was my favorite also. just wish I could have gotten a good fireworks burst too.

I was only semi happy with my shots. Usually fireworks are taken with a shutter speed of 1 to 3 seconds. But when I tried that the lasers were blurred and the wind blurred the fireworks. The ones that turned out were less than a second, so I didn't get too many huge bursts. I haven't shot that many fireworks shows before but there was a lot of smoke that didn't help the pix. Do they make low-smoke fireworks? I was somewhat happy with the shot of the band, considering they were mostly taken at 300mm, a long way out.

They did a good job, I watched it live downtown.

Enjoyed watching the Networked launch sequence of all the different locations of mortar shells.

Biggest glitch was when the helicopter pilot moved in an hovered in the middle of Mayor Cathy Taylor's speach.

Thought they should of also included Leon Russell, Hason and a long list of famous people from Oklahoma. Realize they had a short time to fit them all in.  Seems they could have removed some insturmental songs that were not associated with people and replaced them with brief excerpts from songs of native  Oklahomans.  Not being a Country & Western fan, I was not too sure who was singing those C&W songs.

Not sure if that was Ridge Bond singing Oklahoma, Ridge Bond performed the part of Curley when Oklahoma played on Broadway for years, I am sure Maxine has some copies of his performances from those days.

Overall I gave it a 9

Woody Guthrie's part was one of the best of the entire production.  Too bad they did not play his entire lyrics.

Here they are:

This land is your land, this land is my land
From California, to the New York Island
From the redwood forest, to the gulf stream waters

This land was made for you and me

As I was walking a ribbon of highway
I saw above me an endless skyway
I saw below me a golden valley
This land was made for you and me

I've roamed and rambled and I've followed my footsteps
To the sparkling sands of her diamond deserts
And all around me a voice was sounding
This land was made for you and me

Chorus

The sun comes shining as I was strolling
The wheat fields waving and the dust clouds rolling
The fog was lifting a voice come chanting
This land was made for you and me

In the squares of the city, In the shadow of a steeple;

By the relief office, I'd seen my people.
As they stood there hungry, I stood there asking,

Is this land made for you and me?

As I went walking, I saw a sign there,
And on the sign there, It said "no trespassing."

But on the other side, it didn't say nothing!

That side was made for you and me.
