Sustainable Tulsa to Publish Area Green Directory

Tulsa, OK -- October 5, 2005 -- A movement has been quickly growing in progressive communities throughout the US and in Oklahoma: citizens are working together to promote responsible economic growth, environmental stewardship and quality of life for all through an integrative approach known as sustainability.

Sustainable Tulsa, a chapter of the Oklahoma Sustainability Network, is the grassroots organization behind many of these efforts in the Tulsa area.

Building on the momentum of the sustainability movement, Sustainable Tulsa will soon be releasing a first-of-its-kind Tulsa Area Green Directory. The Tulsa Area Green Directory is designed to be used by individuals and businesses with a desire to create a positive living and working environment for our community.

A sustainable future is one where environmental, economic, and community goals work together for the betterment of the entire community. Making that happen requires active citizens, and the Tulsa Area Green Directory will be designed to help citizens get informed and get involved.

Businesses and individuals who share this sustainable community vision and who would like to be included in the 2006 Tulsa Area Green Directory are invited to submit information about their business or community contribution for a free listing in this new resource guide. The submission deadline is October 10, 2005.

Businesses, organizations, or individuals who might be included are in the areas of green building (architects, builders, products), holistic health, conservation, transportation, environmental education and activism (youth or adults), food and farming, recycling, locally-produced goods and services, culture and diversity, consumer products (home, personal, health, etc.), renewable energy and urban planning.

For more information about Sustainable Tulsa and/or to be included in the 2006 Tulsa Area Green Directory, contact Corey Williams at 918.838.3288 or OSNTulsa@aol.com or see the Sustainable Tulsa website at http://www.sustainabletulsa.org.

Sustainable Tulsa is a grassroots, non-profit organization dedicated to responsible economic growth, environmental stewardship, and quality of life for all.
