As of the monthly report from the City we received on Monday;

Centennial Walk - Construction package No. 1 (for 11 block faces) opened bids on 12/8/06 and appear to be on budget.  I would expect the City can get construction started in February.

Centennial Green - The final signed and sealed bid documents are due to the City in (this) January.  With this I would expect bidding to commence in February but I don't have that confirmed yet.  In addition, it appears the site purchase from Land Legacy is also very near completion.

Things just take a while longer when the city is involved I have learned.  I know there are good reasons for it though. I have a good laugh now and then about how long a process it was to get approved for the small mural job I will be doing for the Central Center.  My average job takes about 2 visits of 45 minutes each to get nailed down and decided upon.  So far its been about 3 months of sketching, taking photos, meetings, signing papers, getting approvals up and down the chain, more meetings, more sketches, research, contracts, forms, faxing, etc. etc. lol  I can't even begin to imagine all that it takes to do a park or a "walk" after having been through all this for a small mural lol.  But the nice friendly people, I have worked with and met during the process, have made it all worth while.

The first 11 block faces (Phase 1) of Centennial Walk were bid in mid-December and should be under construction by February/March.

The final bid documents for Centennial Green are due to the city this month and I would expect that project to advertise shortly thereafter.

More later,
