Been years since I ate at Benihana's near 51st and Harvard. Hard to top that place, but another similar place seems to of popped up on the radar screen in Tulsa.

Friday night I was out with a couple of friends and we diddy bopped over to 41st and Memorial to eat at the Ichiban Terriaki, but it was closed, and we saw that the old Tiki place was open again.  So we tried it out.

Wow, quite a surprize.  Try it, I think you will like it if you enjoy that style of cooking and atmosphere.  They also have a Sushi Bar in addition to the Teppanyaki style of cooking.

Prices seemed resonable for the portions and show.  I had the Salmon that came with a four course meal for around $13 bucks. Lobster was around $20-$25 depending on what else you got with it, they offered Turff n Surf type combos.

Bang the giant drum on your way out if you ejoyed the show and meal....

I had completely forgotten that building was still there, since I rarely drive by there anymore.  By "the old Tiki place" I assume you are referring to the long-gone Jade East restaurant.  30 years ago, that was one of my favorite restaurants.  I'll have to give the new incarnation a try.

Osaka is definitely the best Japanese around here, IMO. Shogun across from Woodland Hills was awful the two times I tried it a couple of years ago. I'm surprised there's not more competition. I'll have to give Tokyo Garden another try. The last time I tried to go there, we were stuck waiting so long we ended up leaving without eating.

If you like more Traditional Japanese cooking try the Ichiban Teriyaki on 41st Street South side just west of Memorial.  End spot on the second building from the Donut Shop.  Very small sign in the door, non discript place with excellent food.

Tempura Shrimp and all the entres Rock!

Try it, you will like it !

Ichi is definitely the best Japanese in town.  No show; it's all about the food.
