Some of the largest development projects in Tulsa recently are often overlooked. The first phase of the huge Montereau project was about 66 million dollars and they are preparing to add 2 eight story towers to the campus in their phase 2. I imagine these places are a bit pricey so I was suprised to hear that the phase one had already reached 95% occupancy.

Montereau has just announced the start of its Phase 2 expansion project.

"  Phase-two expansion would add apartments in a pair of eight-story towers rising above the Montereau's existing 500,000-square-foot facility.

It also will include 12,000 square feet of additional common space, expanding Montereau's treatment room, exercise and wellness center options while adding a day spa, movie theater, and expanded library, among other choice amenities.

The project also promises to inject a new cafe, bar and other dining opportunities to a complex that already boasts three restaurants and a lounge.

"The sixth floor will have an executive lounge that will look to the northwest over the city," said Murlette. "You'll be able to see downtown."   "

Inverness Village is another large new retirement community in Tulsa that is also on 71st and looks very nice. I think the buildings on its campus could have used a bit more variety in their look to make it look more inviting. Even just an occasional color change would help.

Saint Simeons is adding as well. http://www.saintsimeons.org/ournextchapter.shtml

Those who think it is a luxury have only a fragment of a mind. Mans spirit grows hungry for art in the same way h

That level of density is nice in a very non-dense area.

If I remember right, Monetereau was heavily funded by the Warren's. A parking garage would be a nice addition. Kinda funny they spend $66M to build a walkable retirement community on 71st but the idea of spending anywhere near that downtown or the river perplexes many of the same people. Warren was recenly outspoken that Tulsa should get a piece of the South Tulsa river bridge but we haven't seen that family put much faith into the incog river plan or downtown.
