CRITIQUE, CREATIVITY AND CONFIDENCE
Artists Work to Overcome Creative Obstacles in a Workshop from the Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition

TULSA — As an artist, there are three things that are vital to sustaining and growing an artistic career: critique, creativity and confidence. The Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition (OVAC) presents a workshop to help artists develop the means to find constructive feedback and overcome obstacles that artists commonly face.  The 3 C’s of the Artist’s Life: Critique, Creativity & Confidence is a part of the annual Artist Survival Kit (A.S.K.) workshop series and will be held on November 17, 2007 from 1-4:30pm at the Philbrook Museum of Art, 2727 S. Rockford Rd, in Tulsa.

Each workshop participant is invited to bring one piece of artwork for a group critique, to be led by Stephen Kovash, Gallery Owner and Arts Administrator. After the critique, participants will move into a creativity coaching session with Romney Nesbitt. The session will help artists to use feedback from a critique constructively and give them techniques for overcoming creative obstacles.

This is the third in a series of six Artist Survival Kit (A.S.K.) workshops organized by OVAC and sponsored by the National Endowment for the Arts and the Oklahoma Arts Council.  OVAC is dedicated to the professionalism and advancement of artists.  For more information and a list of upcoming workshops visit www.ovac-ok.org.

The workshop is $20 for general public or $15 for OVAC members, with a discount of $5 for those registered and paid in full by November 14. Seating is limited so early registration is encouraged. Scholarships are available.  Registration is available by email at assistant@ovac-ok.org or by phone at (405) 232-6991.
