Jump Start the Future for Your Community

The Tulsa City-County Library and the Tulsa Library Trust host a day of rural and community workshops focused on jump starting economic development.

Beginning at 9:30am, Collinsville's Mayor Stan Sallee will kick off a day of workshops at the Collinsville Public Library (1223 Main, Collinsville).

Main Street Oklahoma 10:00-12:00
Join a discussion with Linda Barnett, Exec Dire of OK Dept of Commerce Main Street Oklahoma program, Maureen Wright, Collinsville's Main Street Program Director, and Cindy Bissett, Claremore Main Street Director as they discuss the steps of this program, the benefits and the results in their communities.

Lunch on Main Street in Collinsville 12:00-1:30

Homeownership, a Key to Economic Development 1:30-2:10
Lyn Larson Operations Manager for HUD and Liaison to the Faith-based and Community Initiatives Program, will discuss the community value of homeownership and ways HUD can help.

Build a Century Community 2:15-2:55
Kathy Gain (ODOC) will present the fundamentals of the Century Community Program and the importance of strategic planning for successful community development.

INCOG Partnerships for Rural Development 3:00-3:40
Barbara Albritton Executive Director of the Oklahoma Rural Development Council discusses ways that INCOG can assist communities through grant administration and strategic planning.
