Last Thursday, 2/7, there was a fatality accident on Hwy 75, just south of the Jenks exit. A red van was going south in the northbound lane of the highway and hit a car head-on, killing an elderly lady from Mounds.

That van passed me less than 15 seconds (determined by where the accident occurred) before impact, and he was traveling fast. I heard somewhere that he entered the highway on the 71st Street ramp, but have not heard any other details. I'm curious what the story is, and would like to know more about this (link if possible?). I don't take the TW, but read it online, so I could have missed the article if there was one.

I seem to recall he was caught stealing something from Best Buy and bolted onto the exit ramp and on to the wrong way avenue to his death and that of an innocent....

you are correct.  I heard the same thing that they entered the hwy from 71st ST.  The accident the 2nd poster is referring to happened on 169 not hwy 75.  They stole some music and dvd's and bolted out the door.  They jumped the fence and tried running east across the hwy towards Target.  One car hit the pedestrian throwing him in the air, and was immediately ran over a 2nd time by another motorist.  Needless to say he didn't survive.  We can say one thing though, I bet he never steals from best buy again!  Sorry for the cold sense of humor, but one must ask themself "is it really worth it"

Different accident... The accident that you are talking about killed a pedestrian that stole something from Best Buy and attempted to run across 169.

I don't have any official news, except KJRH at one point was calling it a crime scene investigation, but I never heard any other news outlet call it that. So, I am not 100% sure why they would call it that.

a crime scene in essence that the driver of the van could be charged with vehicular manslaughter, reckless driving, etc etc.  They wanted to cover their *** just in case.

One wonders why the Creek exit was blocked off so long. I drive by there around 6pm and it had been blocked since 4pm. Maybe there was investigation into more than just an accident?
