Man...have I been having fun with this.  I have an idea for an exercise.  Using the Street view feature, find your favorite street, street scene, or just good examples of urban form and post them here.  I'll start:

NW 23rd and Hoyt, Portland, OR

Man, can we at least make it favorite street scene in Tulsa?  I mean, I have time but...

Also, Street View is old news - STREET VIEW TULSA is still cool.  [}:)]

Go forth and find cool Tulsa scenes!

So who were people camping out for at Cain's?

I took a "Drive" up 11th street going west from Skelly Stadium to Coney I Lander. While going up the street, they drove into the Quik Trip, and then back out onto the street and then made another left in to Arbys. Check it out.

OK...how the !*#@! did they do this?!  Amazing, cool, weird, creepy...

Flip the views around and the Google Dude must of stopped to get gas [$2.99/gal] and then went to Arby's for lunch?

QT on 11th

And it appears the Google Dude really liked QT's and used the one at 45th & Peoria to get a beverage from Lamar's favorite place. Follow this link by turning North on Peoria and then turning left into the QT after about '8 clicks' on the N arrow. Looks like they usually left the camera on prior to their stops/breaks!

Crikey, way to take pictures in my neighborhood on the ugliest day of the year!

I have yet to see one of the spaceship-looking picture takers around town...must've had my head in the sand!

Bland day, but here's a favorite of mine from places I've been recently. This used to be an incredibly ugly bridge slicing through the urban heart of Columbus, Ohio. When I was there last weekend there were a ridiculous number of people out on the street.

Columbus' CAP

It's a good example of what a city and state who have an actual desire to improve their lot can do when they get together. The short north was just shy of a **** hole when my sister moved there around 10 years ago. Between this, tearing down the Ohio Penitentiary, and other downtown revitalization work, things have vastly improved in downtown and close-in parts of Columbus.

And interestingly, it has done absolutely nothing to retard the growth of massive high end shopping centers up north.
