Ground Broken for St. John Broken Arrow
61st and Elm | Broken Arrow

Artist Rendering of St. John Broken Arrow

Medical Complex
Six-Story | 150,000 SF Hospital (opening fall 2009)
Four-Story | 100,000 SF Medical Office Building (opening summer 2009)
$100+ Million Dollar Project

From the BA Ledger
BROKEN ARROW - Unseasonably nippy temperatures and a brisk wind couldn't cloud community enthusiasm today as St. John Health System, Tulsa, broke ground for Saint John Broken Arrow - a $100 million development that will give the city a dedicated, full-range medical center, a doctors' building and significant additional retail.

St. John Broken Arrow, recently upscaled from a five-story, 86-bed concept to a six-story, 96-bed reality, will anchor a complete commercial development project located at Elm Place (161st Street) and Albany (61st Street).

The hospital will offer a wide range of healthcare services, including:

Emergency care
Women's services
Orthopedic services
Joint replacement
General surgery
All-digital diagnostic imaging services.

A medical office building will also be constructed and connected to the hospital.  According to Mike Prescott, principal in Broken Arrow Medical Facility, LLC, project developer, the commercial development area adjacent to the hospital will include:

Retail establishments
Banks
Full-service restaurants
Two hotels

St. John Broken Arrow will be built and owned by Broken Arrow Medical Facility LLC and managed by St. John Health System. The Haskell Co. will serve as the architectural and construction services firm for the hospital and medical office building. Development of retail space and pads will begin immediately. Commercial development is exclusively represented by Walman Commercial Real Estate Services. Completion of the 150,000-square-foot hospital is expected by the fall of 2009. The 100,000-square-foot medical office building is scheduled to open in the summer of 2009.

Good for BA.

So Broken Arrow is sprawling Northwest towards Tulsa.

Broken Arrow is growing in all directions but mostly in this area.  This project will help fill in some land closer to Tulsa.  The 61st and Elm region of Broken Arrow will become the "Front Door" to the community as this project develops as well as the Stone Wood Hills area.

I am glad to see land near the Broken Arrow Expressway start to get developed.  This will be a big economic plus for the community and region.
