Television will change dramatically on Feb. 17, 2009, when all full-power TV stations across the country complete the federally mandated transition from analog to digital television (DTV) broadcasting. And while consumers have much to gain – including more free channels and crystal-clear pictures and sound – more than 34 million households that watch television using antennas risk losing their reception unless they take the easy step to upgrade. Join the Federal Communications Commission and the Tulsa City-County Library to learn more about the change in television service, what you can do to prepare and how to receive a $40 coupon to apply to a TV converter box.

But does anyone get channel 8 yet, using a converter?
I cannot get it at all, and most people i talk to, cannot either.

They are changing frequencies in February which is supposed to fix everything.

I do know that not everyone that applied got their coupons, and the company running the program for the FCC ignores requests for replacements.

Channel 8 is terrible, I can get only snowy reception and I hate using rabbit ears.  They need to get off VHF, I get all the UHF stations just fine.  It is too bad they have to have a great show like LOST or I would skip them completely.  I recommend getting a TERK DTVa antenna instead of a converter, I had a terrible time with reception of other antennas over on brookside.
