Thank you CF. I know Obama is not to blame for this. I said as much in this thread. My only point is at what point does he own this problem.

I think it is probably impossible to define when any president owns the economy.  Probably 2 - 3 years, of course that depends on what is happening.  If things are stable I would say maybe 1 year.  When it is unstable and things are changing so rapidly.  I don't know.  When you catch a 30% slide where is it going to stop?

Well.. I think I was all wrong about President Bush.  He wasn't involved in the TARP bailout.
Rove said  "Look, Geithner was sitting in the room, last year. Three people made the decision about the bank rescue package: Geithner, Ben Bernanke, and Hank Paulson, the Treasury Secretary. " 
I sadly would have hoped that the President at the time would have been somewhat involved in the decision to throw so much at the banks.  But I guess it actually is better that he wasn't.
