An all-day conference on April 1 will explore "green" building options for homeowners, businesses and cities.

The 25th annual Resource Management Conference, "Green Building: Low Impact Development What's in It for You?" will be held at the Home Builders Association of Greater Tulsa, 11545 E. 43rd St. Shelby Navarro of ONE Architecture is one of the featured speakers. He will showcase the sustainable projects he has done in Tulsa. He'll also talk about how to find sustainable building materials.

Earth-friendly building materials can be found in many places. One just has to know where to look and what to ask for, Navarro said. "I'll update people on how to get those and really encourage people to go to their normal building spots and always ask for sustainable products so suppliers and retail outlets will understand there's a demand for it," he said. Other speakers will include Ron Jones, editorial director of Green Builder magazine, who will talk about the changing perceptions in green building.

Tim Busse, architect for the New Town at St. Charles, Mo., master planned community, and Keith Sterling of the city of Broken Arrow will speak about low-impact development, which deals with stormwater management. Tim Armor, manager of transportation for the Indian Nations Council of Governments, will talk about green transportation.Exhibits and question-and-answer sessions will be included in the conference.

Registration will cost $100. On-site registration starts at 8:30 a.m., and the fee includes lunch.
