Weird Creepy Feeling!

Hey Tulsa Pals!  I am so grateful to be home...I was STL for about a week and am loving Tulsa even more because of it.  But anyway, here is my question:  We were on the way home when we had to pull over and get something out of the back of the car.  The truck stop we exited off to was actually long ago closed/shut down/out of business but we stopped and got what we needed and drove on.  Anyway, (this was between Springfield and Lebanon) there was an abandoned car, relatively new, OK plates with the old design just left there. (exp Mar 09) The tires were getting low and weeds were grown up around the car.  For some reason this is creeping me out!  It was in such an obscure location.  I have the make/model/plate # written down.  Is it probably stolen?  Missing person clue?  Abandoned because the owner hated it?

Do you guys know of a tip line I could  call?  This is really bugging me.
Thanks!

*I traveled the route between Ft. Leonard Wood and Tulsa pretty much once a month for my first 20 years (family)...pretty road, but very creepy little towns.

Look up the Oklahoma State Bureau Of Investigation (OSBI) or their Mo. counterpart and report it to one of them.

Well, I called the OSBI Tipline and the very bored gentleman who answered the phone told me I had to report it to the Tulsa Police because I am from Tulsa...even though the car was in Missouri. The OHP didn't have a tipline that I could find.  I can't imagine the Tulsa police would really like me calling them about a random car in MO.  Is there anyway to determine what county a tag is from by the first 3 letters?

It's just so creepy!

As an aside, was anyone around when the three women in Springfield MO went missing?  I have family that lives in SF and I was recentcy reading about it...Back when it happened we had actually been in SF that weekend but I was only 12.  I still think about it everytime I drive through there.

I'd try Missouri Hi-Po then, the car is in their jurisdiction.  You used to be able to tell which county a tag came from a lot easier.  Tulsa tags used to start with a "Z" OKC area was X and Y, as I remember.  Most other counties corresponded with that letter of the alphabet (i.e. Creek started with a "C" and might have been "CR")

Thanks Conan. Now I feel like I am actually doing something productive.   BGX were the first three letters...That gives us:
Beaver
Beckham
Blaine
Bryan

My first thought was "Big Cabin"

I am surprised the OHP didn't have a tipline.  Surely they could run the tag to see if it is stolen.  I will see if MHP has one.

Fun Fact!  My dad actually went through the MHP academy back in the 70's as an MP at Ft. Leonard Wood.

Tulsa was also I and (I think) T

There are officers on here *ahem* who might want to pipe in on this one. The jurisdictional red tape is a big pet peeve of mine and hopefully theirs as well. I almost got hit by a car once and I swung around and followed the driver and called 911. The driver kept getting on and off the highway (driving through signs and almost hitting other people in the process) and everytime she entered or left the highway they had to transfer me to a different dispatched because "jurisdiction changed." After half an hour of that I lost the woman at a light and hung up.

Now that's odd, I called on a drunk driver one night and followed them while on the phone with OHP (I was on the highway when I made the call).  When they exited the highway, they kept me with OHP, who are the ones that ended up pulling them over.

So glad they helped with hurricane Ike...NOW UPDATE YOUR PAGE!

Wish me luck, calling MO HP...will report back!

OK, the MO guy was MUCH nicer than the OSBI dude.  Except his computer locked up and he couldn't guide me to the appropriate troop # tipline.  I'm going to try Lebanon Police now BUT my stupid self didn't write down the Mile marker. :-[
