Tulsa Symphony Orchestra will present the second concert of its 2009-2010 season, "Hear the World with Tulsa Symphony Orchestra," featuring music from and inspired by Italy.  The concert will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2009, 7:30p.m., in Chapman Music Hall of the Tulsa Performing Arts Center (PAC).  The concert features the orchestra under the baton of Maestro David Lockington as he leads the orchestra through works by Respighi and Mendelssohn.  Lise Glaser, the orchestra's principal oboist, will be featured in the Marcello Oboe Concerto.

In this Italian-themed concert, Respighi, Marcello and Mendelssohn bring to life the richness and joy derived from the "Italian Experience."  Ottorino Respighi's Ancient Airs and Dances Suite No. 1 was a product of his scholarship and love of Italian masters, including Monteverdi, Verdi and Marcello.

Single tickets ($10-$65) to the evening's event may be purchased through the PAC ticket office by calling 918-596-7111 or online at www.myticketoffice.com .  Senior (age 65+) and children's (age 12 and under) discounts are available for both season subscriptions and single tickets.
