Adelson concedes.

This result is quite obviously a repudiation of Obama's policies (NJ/Va. redux).

I'm been upset ever since they infringed on my right to own a car, by requiring me to carry a license AND insurance, as well as tag/registration.  (Not to mention the minimum age and sobriety requirements.)

Before you know it, there won't be any cars left in America!
Not a valid comparison, there is no constitutional right to drive a car.

Perkins- Don't even need to re-hash why I did this.  I was so turned off with Dewey and Tom.  He was somewhat of an unknown, seemed earnest, and was the least owned of the three real candidates.  I think Mark could have won it if he'd had a few more weeks and about $250K more to spend.

Yes I did change candidates.  Adelson turned out to just not be cut out for a mayoral campaign.  I don't think he's got a hope now of successfully defeating Sullivan or beating Coburn, or winning Inhofe's seat when he retires (which I suspect this is his last term).  This congressional district and the state as a whole is so anti-Obama, he could never win a seat especially after correcting a talk show host that he'd donated almost $100K to the Obama campaign.  Tom is a good man, but I think he got some HORRIBLE campaign advice and lost his temper at the wrong time a few times.

Gomez- that was not an easy choice, I think either candidate has done well as a D-4 councilor.  Unfortunately neither of them have mastered the duality of downtown interests vs. very active neighborhood HOA like K-W, Renaissance, Florence Park, Lortondale, etc. well enough to keep everyone happy.  I should have suspected more trouble for Eric after seeing Rocky Frisco's numbers in the primary.  Eric might come off as a little slick for some people because he does like to talk, whereas Maria seems to have a little more depth of thought instead of prepared statements.  I also don't think it helped Gomez with the whole Liz Wright TMAPC controversy in the last week.  That shed a bad light on developers and Gomez is in commercial real estate.  JMO.

Wood- I feel Wood has done a good job as auditor and I was introduced to him by Recyclemichael at Tom Adelson's mayoral campaign announcement and found him to be a geniunely nice fellow.  I think I've voted for him every city election I've voted in.  I can see though, that with the recently-released outside audit of Public Works that it might be time for different leadership for this role in city gov't.

Mayor

I didn't care for the other three, a pedo sympathizing democrat, a tax and spend republican and a anti-2nd amendment nut. So one mayor may be soft on crime, another may try to tax us more and other may try to push for some anti-2nd amendment ordinances(which I do not think is legal at the city level but it may not stop him from trying). I do not know anything about Kirkpatric.

I know where you got your misconception about Adelson, but I'm just dying to know what Perkins has ever said or did that would indicate that he is an anti-second amendment nut.

my votes went:

Perkins, for pretty much the same reasons as Conan already stated
Mautino, because I think it is time for a changing of the guard, and to be honest,  I don't care too much for Troyer (though I had to laugh at his mailer where he claimed one of the things he did in the past two years was make it illegal to give teens alcohol)
Wood, primarily due to ignorance.  I neglected to do any research on the Auditor candidates (I know, shame on me) so I went with the name I had heard the least of on commercials.  If nothing else,  that meant that he would owe less people favors when the election was over (at least favors for campaign reasons)

On the propositions, my reasons pretty much parallel CF's, so no reason to rehash those.

I was 246 at about 4:00.  What I don't understand is why I pass another polling location as I'm going from my home to my polling location...

James, i have had the privilege to meet Kirkpatrick, twice. I hope you get the chance to see personally what a waste of time you exercised voting for him. Tickatickatickatickaticka :) I you have met him you know what that is all about.

He drove an ice cream truck for my brother in the 1980's.  Nuttier than squirrel turds.

Steve

I voted for Adelson and Wood (losers) and Barnes for city council (winner.)

I voted yes on questions 1 & 3, no on question 2.

All in all, 50% of what I voted for passed, 50% lost.
