I saw a mention of this on the Development thread as being an upcoming event in the Blue Dome.  Fat Tuesday is a few weeks off still (Feb 16th), but it would be nice to hear details on this from those close to it.

Anyone have details on the Party?  Is it a street party with tents and street closures (similar to St Paddy's)?  What time will it begin?

Greetings. I can answer some questions about this.

The newly formed Blue Dome Association chose to announce our presence by throwing Tulsa's best Mardi Gras Parade and Party.

The various Blue Dome businesses are joining together to put on a parade that runs through the district, followed by street closures, jazz music and all the bead throwing Tulsa can handle.

Many of the Blue Dome merchants are booking Jazz acts and are planning to party the night away in true Mardi Gras style. The parade will start at 7PM at Greenwood and 1st Street and will pass McNellies, El Guapos, The Loose Leaf Company, IDL Ballroom, ENSO, The Met, Ridgways, Dwelling Spaces, Yokozuna, Blue Dome Diner, Rose Pawn, Dirty's Arnie's, Dilly Deli, Candy Bar, and will finish up across from Fly Trap Music Hall.

Elgin will be closed from 1st to 2nd, 2nd will be closed from Elgin to Detroit, and Detroit will be closed from 1st and 2nd. We'll have places to buy beer in the street and all of the merchants will have fun things going on inside.

You will not want to miss this. The Blue Dome Association is working hard to promote our neighborhood and we're excited about hosting our own party to show it off.
