The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission already dictates racial and gender hiring quotas there, but our favorite Mrs. Maxine Watters wants a little something more.  She is inserting a provision in the house financial reform bill Subtitle 1, Section 1801.

Heres what the legislation says.  Each of the 12 regional Fed banks must have a Diversity Officer.  The House provision sponsored by Watters makes it clear that each diversity officer or Czar is to be a Presidential appointee who must be confirmed by the Senate. This position will be comparable to other senior presidential staff.

So the Federal Reserve Banks (independent entities) will have a senior presidential staff under the title "Diversity Czar" who will report directly to the President, and has the power to block or approve hiring.  Additionally this person will oversee contracts and programs issued by the Federal Reserve Banks.

The whole structure of the Federal Reserve system was designed to ensure that no President, Treasury official, or Congress could have power over them.  I have to hand it to her this is brilliantly evil.  Those who oppose it will be branded racists.  If passed it will put Federal Reserve power in the pocket of the president and congress.
When attacked by a mob of clowns, always go for the juggler.

And she's the perfect un-witting dim-witted pawn to introduce this.

This is exactly what we need, 12 more Presidential appointees who need confirmation to further take Senator's (and the public's) attention off what is truly important in this country.

"Diversity" the new "Southern Strategy".  All the apologists like fotd should be thrilled with this.

It may be one of those budgetary items that never gets spent. Since it has to be an appointment approved by congress, those positions will most likely become so political as to never be completely filled. We can't even finish judiciary appointments.

Stupid idea.
