I just found out about this today.

Last Friday, President Obama transferred The "Ethics & Transparency Czar" Norm Eisen to an ambassadorship in the Czech Republic.

The "Transparency" position will be eliminated, and most of the duties transferred to White House council Bob Bauer, an attorney and former lobbyist.

Apparently the lobbyist are celebrating. "this is the biggest lobbying success we've had all year," Tony Podesta, founder and chairman of the Podesta Group, which is one of Washington's most influential public relations firms.

Business is booming for lobbying.  Revenue for federal lobbyists rose 5 percent since President Obama took office to more than $3.5 billion according to the NY Times.

You are such a cheerleader for the economy under Obama.
Power is nothing till you use it.

There are apparently certain sectors that he seems to be stimulating.  ;D

Just like technology stocks under President Clinton and energy stocks under President Bush?
Power is nothing till you use it.

But what happened to more transparency and sticking it to the lobbyists?  You don't think he'd break a campaign promise or two do you?

The idea of having a transparency czar sounds kind of stupid in the first place.  Patronage.
