Driving into work this morning on US-75 I couldn't help but notice that one of these tanks

appears to have nearly burned to the ground

Did I miss something?

I drive past a few days a week and work about 1/4 south of the refinery and hadn't noticed anything.  They've had some on-going insulation work on tanks.  Other than that I'm not aware of anything recent.  Is it right next to SW Blvd or more in the middle of the tank farm?

EDIT: There was this just under a year ago: http://www.fox23.com/mostpopular/story/Fire-At-Holly-Corp-Refinery-In-West-Tulsa/QeuweLmfTkCC7fdk9xJo7A.cspx

I'll have to take SW Blvd on the way home to get better intel.
Maybe they're finally demoing that tank you mention that caught fire a year ago.
Or something

I drive by there regularly. I believe there is an exterior layer that they were removing and what you're seeing is the rusted out guts. They've been doing a lot of tank work and upgrades there - at least that's how it appears from driving by - a lot of new piping systems, etc have been installed.

The tank you're seeing from SW Blvd. is not the one that caught fire last year.

thanks, I didn't think it was the take from last years fire.
I keep forgetting to take the SW, but if anyone is interested, the tank in question is right across from the goodwill store.
Might be this one:  Google Map

Also just noticed that different google-map imagery is used when you zoom in that far (in this case, newer).   Zoom out a few and it switches to older satellite pics.

Drove past on Hwy 75 yesterday and could see it better than when I'm on SWB.  This tank most definitely either suffered damage or is being torn down in a less than efficient manner.
