I wasn't sure if this would be an appropriate post for this forum or not, so please feel free to let me know.

I was wondering if you guys can help me.  I just graduated from Tulsa Community College's Dental Hygiene Program .  I am looking for a patient to take with me to the licensing exam for dental hygiene (Western Regional Examining Board Dental Hygiene Exam) in Albuquerque, New Mexico the weekend of June 29 to possibly July 1, 2012.

Qualifications:
- at least 18 years old
- hasn't had teeth cleaned in years (has lots of tartar - aka calculus on all teeth)
- must have natural teeth
- must be in good health (no asthma, no heart attack, stroke, etc...)
- teeth are not moving (no wobbling allowed)
- not a lot of cavities

** all traveling/food/lodging expenses will be completely paid by me
** I will also be paying this person in addition to the travel/food/lodging expenses AFTER the licensing exam.

Also, I will only be cleaning a few teeth (just a quadrant and an extra tooth or so).  When the fall semester begins in August, you may schedule to get the rest of your teeth cleaned by a dental hygiene student at TCC's Dental Hygiene Clinic.

This exam means a lot to me and will allow me to start a career in dental hygiene.  So if you, or you know someone that meets these requirements, kindly send me a PM.  I will need to schedule a screening session with you and take x-rays (free) if you meet the qualifications.

We're asking friends/family members/neighbors. Anyone who is willing to help us out!

The students who graduated last year were able to get people from a substance abuse organization (they had a treatment home etc..).  However, while the "patients" were outside of the treatment facility and not being a "patient" for the students, they were able to get their hands on some alcohol...so long story short, the subtance abuse organization won't allow any of their people be patients for any of us again.  :(

I'd really appreciate it if you guys can help me out.  I have other classmates looking for patients, too.  Thanks!

But how do I know I wouldn't wake up with a kidney missing in a bath tub full of ice? ;)

;D You'll be wide awake the whole time!  No nitrous (laughing gas) even - just the usual local anesthesia!

My classmates and I are still looking for some prospects.  If you know some people who may qualify, please send them our way, we greatly appreciate it!

So, if I understand right, it will take 4 students to do the entire set of teeth of one subject?

Sorry, I can't help - just went to dentist a month or so ago.

Will ask around....

I don't share my thoughts because I think it will change the minds of people who think differently.  I share my thoughts to show the people who already think like me that they are not alone.

Thank you for asking around for us.  By the way, your teeth will be too clean and won't qualify! =)  We're looking for folks who haven't had a cleaning in YEARS and you can see the calculus buildup clinically.

Not necessarily 4 students for 1 person.  The exam is about 4 hours long.  The examiners schedule 2 exams per day, one in the morning, and one in the afternoon.  It would be very difficult for 1 person to be a patient for 4 students for 2 days in a row.  We won't ask anyone to do that!  If we were to share a patient, it would probably only work for 2 students, preferably on 2 separate days.
