Double A

I will not support any candidate that has accepted large campaign contributions from individuals or groups involved with the Recall, Tulsans for Better Government, or has been endorsed by the tabloid Tulsa Whirled. I would argue that these groups bear the most responsibility for causing the divisiveness, instead of diversity; embarrassment, instead of pride; and stagnation, instead of progess; that Tulsa has experienced since the last election. Tulsa can''t afford to let these regressive/oppressive groups and the candidates they support hold Tulsa back any longer. If Tulsa ever wants to be the jewel in the center of the lotus with a new kind of energy, a vibrant urban core, and a thriving creative class we must break the domination of myopic well funded special interest groups. I hope after the elections are over, we all take a look at the ridiculous amount of money spent on these races/recalls/ballot initiatives across the board and we do something keep the special interest money out of local politics by adopting publicly funded elections. It is happening in some other cities with very positive results producing much cleaner campaigns with better qualified more honorable candidates, who ultimately become better qualified more honorable elected officials. That''s what would be better for Tulsa''s Government and ultimately Make Life Better here than At-Large Councilors or Recall attempts by wealthy special interest groups and their totalitarian tabloid propaganda rag the Tulsa Whirled.
