City Manager Trial
MUSKOGEE, Okla. (AP) - Former McAlester City Manager Randy Green is scheduled to go on trial in Muskogee today on federal embezzlement charges. A federal grand jury indicted Green in November on five counts of embezzlement. He's accused of taking at least 25-thousand dollars in U-S Department of Transportation and Federal Aviation Administration funds. Green faces up to 50 years in prison and more than a (m) million dollars in fines if convicted on all five counts. He's pleaded not guilty to the charges. Green was fired as city manager in January 2005 after it was revealed he was paid hundreds of thousands of dollars for unused vacation and leave time. The federal charges are not related to pay scandal.
