University of Oklahoma Law Professor Jonathan Forman will visit the Tulsa City-County Library on Thursday November 2 at 1:30pm in the Central Library's Aaronson Auditorium to discuss tax policy for nonprofits.

During its existence, a nonprofit will have numerous interactions with the IRS â€" from filing an application for recognition of tax-exempt status, to filing the required annual information returns, to making changes in its mission and purpose. The IRS provides information, explanations, guides, forms and publications on all of these subjects. Using the IRS web site, Prof. Forman will lead the class through the life cycle of a public charity, from its articles, bylaws, and application for exemption; through its annual returns; ongoing compliance; and significant events.

TCCL's Central Library is located at the corner of 4th & Denver. Visit the Library's webpage, www.tulsalibrary.org, for additional programs and information.
