I just got back from the tailgate party at 71st and Lewis.

The Packer fan club already has over 200 members (they start over from scratch each year)and will probably break the 600 member mark by season end again.

It is a fascinating group of football fans. They tailgate at least two hours before every Packer game, then go into Remington's bar on the east end of the hotel to watch the game on multiple big screen televisions.

There is very few places in Tulsa to get a bratwurst and drink beer early on a Sunday morning with 100 football fans.

There was a great crowd with whole families wearing Green Bay jerseys and assorted cheesehead gear. The president of the club has a great lei of plastic cheese wedges and brats, but my favorite was the big guy wearing a plastic cheese bra.

Today they had a fish fry and raised money for Toys for Tots. Next week people will bring bratwurst and assorted meats to cook on a huge grill that Fox Collision Center lends to the club. I think next week they will call the fundraiser "Brats for Tots". People are also encouraged to bring their own meat to grill or side dishes for a potluck each week.

The club also sells raffle tickets each week and has free prizes at halftime for everybody who pays the one dollar annual membership fee.

The group calls themselves "Cheeseheads for Charity" and has given thousands of dollars to charities over the years.

It is a lot of fun. If you like the Packers or your favorite team is playing Green Bay that week, come on out.
