Tahlequah or Sallisaw or Stilwell

I am looking for a house in these areas. I like rivers and things to do. I am wondering if anyone has any opinions on these areas? I like Tahlequah because it is closer to Muskogee, but then Sallisaw is closer to Ft. Smith. Stilwell has cheap homes but it seems out in the middle of nowhere. I could be wrong. Does anyone know what Stilwell and Sallisaw look like?
