Hello TulsaNow forum members!
I'm holding a contest over at mcw, and cordially invite you guys to participate.

The winner receives a CD from local folk artist, Wade Burrow.  For details see this mcw article.

This is a fun way to get people out to vote and to win some great local music.

At what point does this become spam?

Spam?  did I miss something?

If the owners/moderators of this forum have issues with my post, they are more than welcome to delete it.
My intentions are to promote a local artist and to try and get people to vote.  If that is considered spam, then I'm disappointed.

I entered the contest. I re-posted a message I had written on here a few days ago.

He is trying to get people to go to his forum and talk politics.

I suppose that any message that encourages people to leave the forum site for more information is technically spam, but I think many posters are guilty of promoting websites through their messages.

I would think that this kind of message is OK on a limited basis, but constant efforts should be discouraged.
Power is nothing till you use it.

I don't think it's a big deal. I agree with you that there's a certain point that it shouldn't go beyond.
