This is an outline of a pamphlet I want to create detailing Tulsa's geographic regions and main attractions.  A pamphlet like this should be placed in hotel rooms throughout Tulsa's MSA, in the airport, and in major shopping facilities.  I also think Tulsa should mail something like this to residents of Tulsa; NW Ark; Springfield, MO; Joplin, MO; Wichita, KS; and communities throughout Oklahoma.  After all, what's the point of building so many attractions if we're just going to sit on them?

Sounds great.  If ya need any help let me know.  I would still like to do that central core map idea.  Perhaps we could make them compliment each other in look and layout.

Double A

The Creek Council Oak, Woodward, and Chandler Parks should be on that list; so should the Admiral Twin Drive In. Isn't "Hispanic Cultural District" just a euphemism for illegal alien slum?

Yes, yes & yes! Tulsa should mail to residents & surrounding areas.
Having the pamphlet part of the Sunday TW deliveries, as an insert - could be another possibility.

While at the airport last week, I made it a point to look around & see if there is anything there that promotes Tulsa in this way. zip. zero. nada. But we already knew that, huh?
One thing I did notice was a small fold out table by the baggage claim that had a wood box w/ slots that contained some pamphlets for the bus schedule & I believe another for Will Rogers in Claremore. Nothing for the City of Tulsa. The rest of the slots were empty.
I've been to the airport sooo many times & I've never noticed this display before (if you want to call it that) ... I only noticed it b/c I was looking for it.
If there is going to be any Tulsa pamphlet for grabs at the airport, they should be placed/displayed in a noticeable way.
Kiosks were mentioned on another thread.. good idea. One by the baggage claim, one by the car rental booths... heck, maybe car rental companies pass them out to their customers?

Man.... what can I say.......?

You just must have missed it..

We pay $Millions$ to the Tulsa Metro Chamber to promote Tulsa...

It had to be there..! The fearless leader of Quik Trip and his Comrades are ready and willing to serve..

Just read their last "Report To The City of Tulsa" regarding what the Motel and Hotel Tax are being spent on..

Yes I would welcome any help.
I know the city has put out a map of the central core, although it's hard to find- I have only seen it in downtown offices.
All this makes me wonder why paid employees of the Convention & Visitor's Bureau haven't already made a map like this...

Rico, that is one expensive fold out table! But then, I guess $millions$ doesn't go that far anymore.

Would you re-post the report link? Nothing happens when I click on it.

I've been wondering the same thing. They should pay you as a freelancer for your time & effort!

Could someone clarify for me which organization would be in charge of this type of thing?
Would it be the Chamber of Commerce, Oklahoma Tourism Dept. or Tulsa Convention & Visitors Bureau?
...Or do these all fall under the same umbrella?

I would defenitely accept that position!!!  If anyone knows anyone working with the C & V Bureau let me know.  I would love to collaberate with them.  (I think they are the ones who would be responsible for this kind of work).

Nothing happens to it because to the best of my knowledge they do not issue an annual report.... At least not one I can lay my hands on......

Hell, I can't even find a contract that lays out the terms of their agreement...

Perhaps the Chamber would be nice enough to fill you in on why they receive this amount of money for economic development....  and yet the City of Tulsa pays Mister Himelfarb (sp.) the whopper of a salary that it does to be the head of Economic Development for the City.

While you have them; just verify that they consider tourism a form of Economic Development...
There could be a clause in the contract that indicates that it only applies to the "Aquarium and Riverwalk"......

Oh yeah... "Why the link doesn't work...?"

Try this one.........
