Jobs are definitely easier to come by than five years ago but I am not an expert on the subject.

Smart thinking there.

Metal Fab. Weilding, many smaller shops all around. Scale is livable and like anywhere, based on EXP. or results.

There happen's to be more schools here than one can shake a stick at. (well, your arm would tire quicky) And thus, if you were my brother and moving here, I'd suggest:

Rent an apt. 41st & Memorial area (maybe not bring all of your families jewels with you) on a 6 mo lease and pick up the first job that paid enough to bring home Brita water and righteous bread.

That buys you time (6 months) to figure out: what hood you wanna stomp round in, and move there; narrow down your choice of higher educational learnedness, and enroll; (Like myself maybe avoid English as a major) and/or locate a company in your field, and advance your career.

Of course, maybe most importantly, find the bar where all the other Auto Workers from Michigan hang out and put your name on a stool - because that's where your going to learn about the area, hear about the good job's, and meet the friendliest people.

I'd also try and make that extra effort with my wife. And not just the usual 4% either. Depending on the season - might call for 7.5% or even higher!

But piece of cake, welcome to Tulsa, pass the nuts...jdb

6 month leases rock!

I have an extra brita... water ain't bad... just clearer than it should be... some Tulsans blame the chicken piss upstream...

Grew up in Tulsa... just moved back here from Chicago... been here since end of October...
