On Thursday evening, March 8, 2007, Heritage Academy will sponsor the dress rehearsal of American Theatre Company's production of "The Diary of Anne Frank".  Proceeds from this event will benefit the Heritage Academy educational program.

Heritage Academy is Oklahoma's only Jewish day school with classes from kindergarten through fifth grade.  It is housed at the Charles and Lynn Schusterman Jewish Community Center, 2021 East 71 Street in Tulsa.

On March 8 the evening will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Charles E. Norman Theatre at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center with a dessert reception honoring Harry Guterman, former Tulsan and co-founder of Fabricut.  Mr. Guterman, a Holocaust survivor, will offer brief remarks about his experiences during and after the Holocaust.

Following the reception, guests will attend the performance of "The Diary of Anne Frank" at 8:00 p.m. in the John H. Williams Theatre.

Tickets for this special evening are available through the Heritage Academy school office.  Contact Vickey Bazhaw at 918-494-0953 or through email at vickey-bazhaw@heritage-academy.org.  Patrons can purchase tickets beginning at $25.00 for a single ticket, which includes the dessert reception.  Patrons can also select to participate at $50.00, $100.00, $500.00 or $1,000.00.

The story of Anne Frank as a victim of the Holocaust is also the story of a young German-Jewish teen whose optimism about humanity has softened the tragedy of her death in a concentration camp.  The play itself has won the Pulitzer Prize and the Tony Award.  It has been made into a movie several times and the book and play are a staple of most high school history or literature programs.
