Gridiron is a musical production written and produced by the Tulsa Press Club. The show satirizes news events and news makers of the past year.

This long-running spoof of local, state and national politics, as well as pop culture of the past year, has traditionally consisted of skits and songs, but this year's show is new and improved, says Executive Producer P. Casey Morgan.

"This year's show will be songs only — no scenes — in the style of Washington, D.C.'s congressional staff troupe, The Capitol Steps," she says. "This revamping will produce a fast-moving, hilarious show of parody songs performed by ten to fifteen of Tulsa's best singers."

Singers will include DJ Morrow-Ingram, Kathy LaFortune, Rebecca Ungerman, Jeff Buckley and Bob Hendrick. Band members include Frank Brown playing guitar, Jim Bates playing bass, Spencer Sutton on the keyboard and Wade Robertson on the drums. Randy Krehbiel is the head author the show and Casey Morgan is the executive producer.

A special reception will be held prior to the Saturday evening show for sponsors and invited guests. Tickets are available through the Tulsa Performing Arts Center by going to www.tulsapac.com or calling 596-7111. They are $20 in advance or $25 at the door.

The buzz on this year's edition of the Gridiron is very positive.  It's definitely not going to be your father's Gridiron -- fast paced, well sung, no stupid sets or props, and just plain funny throughout.

If you've never been to a Gridiron show, you won't fully appreciate those differences, but you will be glad you went.

I know some of the folks with the show and they're all excited about it.  We've got our tickets and will be there this Friday!
