This is bizarro logic. Call me crazy, but I think we should reward legal immigrants in any bill that's passed instead of punishing them for obeying the law.

I don't disagree with that. Moving forward one of the ways to stop illegal immigration is to make legal immigration easier, with less pressure at the borders they would then be easier to monitor for people trying to enter that we really don't want here. As it is right now, there are so many crossing we have no idea who is entering that should not be.

The fact is we are propping up a criminal regime in Mexico.  Our aristocracy is so skert of a commie, strong-man powerhouse in Mehico that we will do anything to keep it afloat.  The sad thing is instead of educating the Mehicans within our borders how to conduct a peaceful, democratic revolution in their own nation we are importing their serfdom to the US.

Yup, having the Mehicans support our consumer-based retail economy helps out quite a bit.  What about the Chinese? They are smart and love their families, too.  What about Indians? They adore their families and work for far less with better education?  What about Africans? They have kids and families they love, and work hard?  Why are Central Americans and Mehicans given a free pass?  What have they done other than share our continent? What about Cubans who risk life and limb only to be turned away becuase their foot may not touch dry sand once their boat reaches Miami?  They spend money too, and rent homes.

If we cannot convince the illegals to peacefully register their presence than they do not deserve to stay, and we do not deserve the power we have inherited.  If we cannot convince our workers and customers and neighbors in the US to forge a true democracy in Mehico, what are we even thinking about in Iraq?
