I thought that I'd share one of my Belvedere pics. I have to say that I was a little disappointed when I saw the condition of the vehicle at the unveiling, but seeing it up close today was still exciting.

IMHO
The removal and unveiling ceremonies left much to be desired. The national exposure that this event gained could've been better exploited had the events been well organized.

I wish I could be there to see this car..It does not look all that bad, but that car guru guy Boyd Coddington said he would just display that car as is and not rebuild it. I don't know how easy it would to get parts for a '57 Plymouth and if you have to replace everything from the wheels on up to the sun-visor you may as well let it be as she is. I'd like to see Tulsa start a Tridition of putting a car in a time capsule every 50 years, the next time capsule would have to be sealed totaly water tight as if it was going to be buried in a lake for 50 years. Perhaps a steel box welded tight, this car still seems to have it's yellowish color.

That slide show link with pictures from 1957 was great.  That Plymouth really looked great when they planted her in the ground, it was shining as if it was just waxed.. if only we could go back in time tell them to seal that vault better. They really wanted to give us a great gift for 2007.
