Christmas Wish List for Tulsa

1.  Chinese Oil Company establishes U.S. Headquarters in Tulsa (competitors begin looking for similar Tulsa area facilities).

2.  Texaco to relocate and consolidate all of its Research facilities in Tulsa.

3.  Kaiser establishes Energy Research Center at Tulsa University with $1 Billion endowment; challenges other oilmen to step up and contribute with a goal of raising $20 Billion in funding.

4.  The political influence of Right Wing Evangelists wanes, ORU closes.  Oklahoma University purchases the campus.

5.  Tulsa based Ram Energy pioneers break through technology to increase energy recovery from old wells.

6.  Oklahoma Senator obtains significant funding for Tulsa-based alternative energy start up seed fund.

7.  With encouragement and funding from Kaiser and Hellman, Oklahoma University announces plan to move Sarskis Energy Center to Tulsa.

8.  Energy-related companies conduct studies and conclude downtown Tulsa offers best location and value for doing business.  Downtown fills up with paying customers.

9.  A coalition of community based Tulsa organizations and Democrats forge a political machine the likes of which Tulsa has never seen.  Tulsa becomes a beacon of light for Independents and left leaning individuals.  Tulsa sends a two term Democrat president to Washington.  Federal money rains on Tulsa.  Republican enclaves remain south of 51st Street but moderates and liberals hold the reins from 51st north.

10.  Wealthy heiress establishes a contemporary museum of art in Downtown Tulsa.  The new museum is immediately catapulted in national prominence due to the size of its endowment.

11.  Devon Oil relocates its headquarters to Tulsa and hires a name architect to build the tallest office tower in Oklahoma in downtown Tulsa.

Well that's Hometown's Christmas Wish List for Tulsa.  Please forgive misspellings and all around rough finish of my list.

Does anyone else out there have a Tulsa Wish List they would be willing to share?

I'm sure a lot of people in Tulsa would like their electricity turned on before Christmas. I kept singing all I want for Christmas is my power turned on, before it was actually turned on yesterday.

Fix the infrastructure.. e.g. streets, bridges, etc.

I'd hope that Tulsa could strive to be more than a hub for the energy sector.  Maybe a hub for ALTERNATIVE energy, but oil is old hat.

14. Syntroleum has a breakthrough at their Tulsa labs builds a production facility in Tulsa.  Thus funding more research and finally cracking the keys to a hydrogen economy... based worldwide in Tulsa!

15.  City crews discover a way to make pulp from downed tree limbs to repair Tulsa streets.

16.  All promises of V2025 realized early, mystical surplus used to fund the river because the roads are already fixed and the Bill and Malinda Gates foundation decided to fully fund Tulsa schools.

17. Tulsa football goes 13-0 in 2008.

18. Massive new development in North Tulsa brings grocery stores, shopping and other retail as well as office jobs and training programs for the masses.  Crime ceases and revitalization runs rampant on the North Side.

19. Downtown's aforementioned growth spurs an urban retail and housing boom.

20. Workable mass transit in Tulsa.
