Tulsa World posted a freebie piece for McConnell this morning.  He's 42, bought Crown Hill Cemetary last year, and his uncle is Maurice Jackson, owner of Jack's Funeral Home up on the Nawf side.

Politically, I don't have much of a clue what he stands for.  Not my district.

Honestly, I think Henderson has done a good job, but his recent whining about pay and office space are costing him credibility points with the rest of city gov't.

Emmanuelle Lewis and Mr. McConnell will split the anti-Henderson vote, and Jack will get re-elected.

It's a Winner-take-All primary.

A Funeral Home and Cemetery are lucrative businesses out here on the North Side..

It's Noth side.  I have lived in North Tulsa since 1960 and am tired of our current Counselor not doing anything for the people.  I am glad he voted NO on the river tax as it was not good for us at all.  But the facts are that where are any new businesses?  We need more Police to stop the crime out here.  How many Northsiders go out after Midnight without being scared?  Especially around the 46th & Cinn. area, it's just scary.
I don't know Mike McConnell but it says he has businesses in North Tulsa and that is a positive as he knows how bad we need help out here.  Just drive to McLain Shopping Center.  Why can't they get a new store to move in the old Albertsons?  We could use a new store further north too.  There are plenty of buildings, let's use them.

Well, Councilor Jack Henderson handily won re-election with, 55% of the total vote.

In a competitive, three way race, I would say that is a pretty strong showing.

It will be interesting when the final election Contributions and Expenditures report get filed, to see how much the local power establishment spent to try and defeat Henderson.

They'll now re-double their efforts to knock off Councilor Roscoe Turner, who always runs a tight race against perennial competitor David Patrick.

Running Patrick as a Independent was a cunning political ploy.

It allowed the local power establishment to concentrate on defeating Henderson in the District #1 Primary, and then re-deploy their resources to try and defeat Turner in the City-wide General election in April.

Sneaky smart.
