Tulsa utility customers can dispose of unwanted items, free of charge (with some exceptions) April 26 and 27 at Quarry Landfill during Free Landfill Days.

The Quarry Landfill is on 46th Street North approximately 1-1/2 miles east of U.S. 169. The address is 13740 East 46th Street North.

Hours will be 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. The landfill closes promptly at 3 p.m.

Participants must show a City of Tulsa utility bill or a driver's license with an address within the Tulsa city limits in order to be admitted to the landfill.

No items containing Freon refrigerant, such as air conditioners and refrigerators, will be accepted. There will be a $2 fee for each discarded tire, which covers state fees for disposal and recycling of tires.

Loads in trucks and trailers should be secured and covered to prevent contents from blowing out onto roadways and creating traffic hazards.

(NOTE:  There are two landfills on East 46th Street North. Look for the Quarry – Waste Management, Inc. signs.)

Not a bad thing, but I think I only paid like $10 on a "non-free" day. It's by weight so this is good if you want to dump a hot water heater, or a deposit of lead ore.

This is a good opportunity to get rid of worthless stuff you have stored.

It is amazing what comes in on those free days.

Old fence, broken playground equipment, broken boats, hundreds of old sofas, etc.

The minimum charge at the landfill is now up to $15...this day is free.
Power is nothing till you use it.

We just had ours here in Haskell, Whew!  What a weekend!  We don't have (yet) a transfer station so if you have a load and need to dump it anytime during the year, you can count on spending about $50 bucks in fuel and dump fees.  Jeez, it's no wonder the back pasture and creeks get filled with all this stuff.  Working to solve that for our little community.

But what a weekend!  We have already hauled of 6 10 ton dumps and we will fill about 15 full size dumpsters before it is all over.

Sure is nice to see those old sofas and the broken fences.  It means that that those are a few things that our (new) code enforcement officer isn't going to have to investigate on the side of the road around town on in someone's yard.

Hope your "trash off" is as successful as ours.
