Got this in the email the other day.  Thought some on this board might be interested.  These townhomes are arguably the coolest homes built in Tulsa.

Who: Tulsa Loft Project

What: NINE – open house/sustainable discussion

Where: 1409 S. Rockford Avenue

When: 11am – 2pm, Saturday, April 12, 2008

Tulsa Loft Project, with the lead of partners architect Shelby Navarro (ONE Architecture) and general contractor Micky Payne (The Happy Hammer), will be hosting an open house and sustainable demonstration of the townhomes currently under construction entitled: NINE – New Inspiration for a Natural Environment from 11am to 2pm on Saturday, April 12, 2008 at 1409 S. Rockford Avenue in Tulsa, OK.

The event will showcase the many materials and systems used to help the dwellings in their quest to maximize energy conservation, indoor air quality, water efficiency, natural light and good urban design principals.  The project is on course to receive a platinum level LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification as awarded by the US Green Building Council (www.usgbc.org).  Platinum level is the highest level on the LEED for Homes rating system for quantifying the sustainability of residential construction.  NINE will be added to a list of less than 25 residential projects in the entire nation with the LEED-Platinum certification and will be the first in Oklahoma.

Local suppliers and experts will be on site to showcase and discuss their green products used by Tulsa Loft Project in NINE including:

Shelby Navarro of ONE Architecture will give a quick materials talk and be available for questions.
John Sayre of Timber Solutions International will be discussing and displaying reclaimed wood products.
Other speakers are TBD
Some of the green elements to be showcased include:

SIP framing systems
GeoThermal Heating and Cooling system
Reclaimed lumber
Recycled glass tile
Recycled glass terrazzo floor tiles
Recycled paper countertops
A green roof
Efficient lighting
Rain water catchment system
Dual flush toilets
Low E windows
Tankless hot water
Much more..
NINE is located in the vibrant and walkable Cherry Street district just southeast of downtown Tulsa.  Public parking is available on street throughout the surrounding district.

We look forward to seeing you there.

Fantastic!  I hope I'll be there--I don't want to miss out.

To top it off I just checked and the Cherry St farmer's market kicks off this Saturday from 7 am till 11 am...so come enjoy the market and then walk over to see the NINE lofts...don't forget to check out some of the other cool stuff on Cherry St on the way...I think most of the loft projects are looking good in that area, but I am WAY interested in seeing the NINE project!!  Drove by the other day and it looks cool from the outside.

Thanks for the heads up on the open house!

open house looks like a winner. Is it going to be advertised in the paper?
