Why do black holes have be devoid of light like that? Because black holes are racist.

So are "pink peppercorns" really plain old "black pepper" that have been politically corrected? If so, I've been overcharged.

That guy is not too smart. They call it a "black hole" because the gravity of the collapsed star is so great that even light cannot escape it's pull. Light travels at 186,000 miles a second (or 300,000 KM a sec)~ and if light can't escape the object- that object is as black as can be. A "black hole" is all it can be called. Total blackness. No light.
