I've been watching concrete piers/supports go up for a new building along 11th Street a block or two east of Peoria, but there's no sign indicating what it may be.

It's at least 2 stories so far, and looks like it may meet the curb.

Does anyone know what this may be?

we vs us

Yeah, good question.  I've been seeing that recently, too, and it looks kinda big for what's around it.

It is a big, new support structure for an old sign.

Yea!, more signage.
Power is nothing till you use it.

Is it seriously JUST for the sign?

If so, I think I'm going to stand in a corner for hours.

I remember something about a little Route 66 information/museum planned inside. Since it will be open air I'm not sure what to call the "inside".

Glad they saved the sign.  Wish they'd put it on some big old warehouse on Rt 66.  The scale of this thing on a tiny little "stand" looks weird to me.  And I hate it being so totally out of context.  Even if it were on top of a little tourist info/shop, that would be better than this strange little structure.  Can we donate money to build walls?

Walls would be nice and would add stability to the structure. I can just see some drunk driving into one of the supporting pillars and the whole thing come crashing down. Don't they think about these things?

They looked at Tally's and the Teamsters building near downtown. They either had problems with the structure supporting the sign, or the sight lines being horrible.

The Meadow Gold sign was originally at 11th and Lewis. Being near 11th and Peoria is a good enough compromise.

And best of all, the sign will look better than it has in decades.

It should be fine as long as we can keep females from Owasso from driving by.

I heard the Bartlett "Square" "Fountain" got hit again.  This time, according to rumor, the SUV went airborne...

Well, there *are* these things at the side of the street called curbs. Maybe they have them where you live.

A nice 4 story apartment building would look good underneath of it. [:D]

At least we know everyone would be for it, who would dare say no.

Maybe an apartment building for the homeless? No one would ever be upset about that.
