One more thing.  During the messiah's address last night he said he was now ready to debate McCain.  Do you think he's finally going to have the balls to accept McCain's challege and have a few unscripted town hall meetings?

My guess is no...

1.5 years of experience as a Governor. Previously a mayor of a small town.

"Yes, but she'll energize the right!"  Its all about winning for these guys. The repubs don't care about experience. To them presidents are figureheads that execute their orders. This is a gamble with our country. She is not qualified in any way to be a president and a VP has to have the ability to step in.

What the hell are you talking about, experience? Tell me about Obama's long legislative or executive background. This guy started running for predident shortly after he got elected to the Senate. And, remind me, what are Obama's qualifications to be president? I hope the dems make this the issue to the voters.

Longer than the 1 1/2 years a governor under investigation in a corrupt state has. And about 2 years experience meeting, understanding, and talking to the American people. All of them not just his base. His lack of Senatorial experience is a plus. His managing of a campaign from obscurity to Mile High stadium against more experienced career politicians shows his skills. He picks the right people and thats what managing is about.

Qualifications? Read or view the speech. Then compare and contrast to a fighter jockey who graduated in the bottom 5 of the academy but still got to fly sophisticated jets (thanks Dad), lost three of them and has run on his POW status ever since. Other than that, what are his qualifications?
You lose on this one G.

The dems are crapping all over themselves right now and I am laughing my rear off over it.

And incidentally, what "investigation" are you referring to? Oh, the one involving the purported sought after termination of a law enforcement officer that tasered a child for kicks. That investigation?  Oh, and who started this investigation? It would not be someone with a political axe to grind. In any case, it is not as if anyone in this race kicked off their politcal campaign at the home of a person who bombed government buildings. Jeez, know your facts.

As for qualifications, other than employing 300 foreign policy advisers and reading teleprompted scripts, I would appreciate you to point out one legislative accomplishment that Obama developed and shepherded through Congress.

Once again, though, I say "who?" to his choice.

She doesn't have the name recognition that Biden does.

Biden's going to eat her lunch on the debate circuit...she's not a very eloquent speaker.

"Change" would indicate something or someone we don't know, yes?

Everyone is sick of D.C. insiders, this must be a brilliant stroke, otherwise Dems wouldn't be crapping all over themselves this morning in their haste to spear her.

Iplaw returns with the laughable republican veep choice ..... she was a mayor and got to be governor as a basic appointment due to the two oligarch families in Alaska being caught in scandals.

Big day for Obama. He's been rope a doping McBush for a month, comes out last night with a KO and then has this Kay Bailey Hutchinson wanna be dumped in his lap. McCain picks Female Alaska governor as running mate in attempt to pick up the Pro-Life/NRA/PUMA/Pro-Anwar Drilling Vote. Hmmm, that's some crossover vote.  Bet she has a wealth of foreign policy experience.

Landslide coming.[}:)][:P]

No doubt true.  The Olbergasm/Obamagasm officially ended when Palin was chosen this morning.

This pick without a doubt pissed off Hillary.

Town Hall debates are for those unintelligent voters who don't read.

Let's see a real live debate. Historical debates. Debates that will deliver a clear picture of the more qualified candidate.

Can we do an alzheimer's test too?

I think the responses we're seeing from democrats right now reflect the fear that this pick has generated within the democratic party.

At least we put the person with limited experience on the bottom half of the ticket instead of the top...

Good to see that iplaw's acid tongue is back. I was wonderin' where you were hiding. [;)]

Having some time to digest the pick, I'm thinking it's a wash. It may be a play to pick up the Hillary voters, but she's anti-abortion, so that'll blunt that a ton. She has absolutely no record on foreign policy. She puts McCain's age in even starker relief.

For every plus, there's a minus. She's a bold pick, but not a particularly strong one.

But we'll see what she's made of on the campaign trail. That's where we'll really find out, right?

You're not the only one.

Incidentally...[:D][}:)]

I'd like to know who among this little cabal knew who she was yesterday...

Bueller?
Bueller?

oh wait.
a simple search shows us:

so, this is some amazing pick!  Not even on anyone's radar.  Strike 1.

How exactly is choosing someone unkown a strike?  The Messiah and his party have been trying to cast themselves as champions of the common man.  Why not pick someone not tied to DC?

The first statment out from Messiah's campaign belittles her for coming from a small town.  Good strategy!  Nice way to step in it from the get-go.

USRufnex

Sorry, but McCain just pulled a Walter Mondale and chose a woman....

http://mudflats.wordpress.com/2008/08/29/sarah-palin-mccains-next-trophy-girl/

...simply because she's a woman... what was this first term governor doing two years ago...???

Mayor of Wassila, Alaska-- a suburb of Anchorage... population:  8,741.

Gee, too bad Istook isn't a woman... he coulda got the job.

I can assure you it's not the home run that some are claiming is to be.

I think that search result and screen shot speak louder than anything I could say.

If any of you knew who she was before today, you certainly did a good job keeping it secret.

If any of you knew what her positions are (other than hunting and fishing, of course, which are of course, requisites for a VP), you certainly did a good job of keeping it secret.

and this decision is strike 1 for the McCain campaign.  Strike 2 will be the debates and strike 3, well.  That will be in November.

Absolutely a 'oh sh*t' choice by McCain's campaign.

I can't help but think of this:

JUNIOR: Well people like that reform. Maybe we should get us some.

PAPPY: I'll reform you, you soft-headed    sonofa*****! How we gonna run reform when we're the damn incumbent!

Gaspar

Went home for a quick sandwich and watched her speech with my daughter.

Ava (my little girl) asked me who the lady was, and I said that she may someday be our president.  Ava said "she's a mommy, can mommy's be president?"  I said "yes they can."  Ava said "someday I will be president, or a princess."

Brought a tear to my eye.
(the president part, she has always wanted to be a princess)

When attacked by a mob of clowns, always go for the juggler.

Again, I don't think it's a smart argument coming from the party of the "common man" to deride someone who served in a small town.  Incidentally, McCain didn't nominate the mayor of Wassila, he nominated the governor of Alaska, but don't let the facts get in the way.

Anyways, I'd much rather tell people I was the mayor of a small town than a "community organizer."  [xx(]
