Tell me how she is ready to be the second most powerful person in the world.

How does a plagiarizing, corrupt, six term Senator, who has made questionable foreign policy votes over the years equate to "Real Change" RM?

Please don't try to impress upon any of us that your comments aren't partisan.  You were incredibly hard on Obama, yet somehow he became entirely acceptible when Hillary threw in the towel.

You made some serious accusations about Obama's fitness for President, just exactly how has he satisfied you so quickly?

Don't waste your time Conan. I already tried to get RM to explain himself. I even c/p links of older threads that he started about Obama. To RM, it's party over everything else.
Someone get Hoss a pacifier.

According to RM this is now officially TRUE because it's been posted on the Internet.  Good work FB.

Did I mention "change"?

Did I say I find Obama "entirely acceptable"?

I am sorry that you feel obliged to attack me and Biden instead of answering the question about the republican woman running for Vice-President.

No, I don't think Obama is ready either. There, are you happy?

McCain is ready to be President. Biden is ready to be President. I don't think Obama and Palin are.

But there is a big difference between Obama and Palin. Obama has worked for eighteen months campaigning all across America, meeting the public, giving major policy speeches, building a team and a website that is ready to work. He also has a special gift...his speaking style. While I don't think he is completely ready, his ability to speak and inspire others makes up a lot of ground.

Palin has done none of these things. Listen to her tonight and tell me if she is a gifted speaker. Don't just react like the trained audience in the room that is going to support every word she says.

I am not surprised at the defense of Palin by the republicans. They know they have to.

Democrats fall in love with their candidate, republicans fall in line with theirs.

Power is nothing till you use it.

I don't think she is ready. I want a vice-President that is ready and engaged in a variety of issues.

I'd like the same from your presidential candidate, but we can't always get what we want.

Do you believe she has better knowledge of international issues and leaders than either of the two democrats running?

I'm still trying to figure out what international experience Obama has other than his "citizens of the world" fiasco.

quote:

Do you think she has better policies and understanding of the issue of universal health care?

That it's a joke policy and that government can't possibly run healthcare in an efficient manner, then yes.

quote:

Do you think she will discuss either of these or any other substantive issue in her speech tonight with great insight?

I have no idea, I haven't read her speech.  Did Obama give any specifics on how he plans to deal with these issues in his speech.  I don't recall much detail on policy in his speech.

quote:

She was introduced as McCain's running mate five days ago. Her speech was about how she grew up and her husband was a snow-mobile racer and her family meant so much to her. She talked about how she is against pork in government because she opposed a bridge (forgetting that she was for it before).

How does that speech make her ready to be vice-president? How can you be so sure that she is ready. You are blindly defending her with no knowledge and no defense? Her only answer is to attack her attackers.

Well, since it was her first speech don't you think you should give her some time to make her case.  Do you always judge people so quickly?

Secondly, how did BO's speech make him ready to be VP?  What specific parts of his speech provided euclidation of his policy stances at all?

Tonight will be an interesting offering.

As for Obama's speaking ability, I have to agree, he is an engaging and talented orator, however he is not on the same level with Bill Clinton or Ronald Reagan.  They could speak from the hip and weave a spell on their audience.  Obama charming but clumsy when he speaks without a script, prone to make statements that thrill the crowd, but come back to bite.

Biden is an old pro.  All teeth and winks.  A politician of the highest order.  Kissing babies and flashing trademark expressions.

Palin is new, full of youth and energy.  I have viewed a few of her old speeches and debates and now I understand why McCain respects her.  She is very much like him, willing to work with anyone, and not afraid to piss off anyone.

She offers a needed influx of conservative energy to the ticket, and she serves as a serious trap to Obama and Biden.  If they veer into attack based on personal issues rather than politics then they ruin everything they have worked so hard to push off onto their proxies.

As it stands now the media proxies are out of control and Obama can no longer rely on them without risking serious PR problems.  So he will have to tackle his own promotion and walk very lightly.

The upcoming days will be a test of Palin and most importantly of Obama.

Keep an eye on your candidate.  This will show you what kind of leader he will be as president.

When attacked by a mob of clowns, always go for the juggler.

This is some funny sh$t.  Now campaigning is relevant experience?  Someone should tell Ralph Nader.  He's got to be ready to be president by now.

Much happier, thank you. [;)]

So why are you pimping the candidacy of someone who is not ready to be President?  Last time I checked, the ticket reads: "Obama/Biden" not the other way around.

I don't think Americans want another Vice President running the country from the passenger seat, do we?

You mean the "narrative" concerning her family that shouldn't even be a part of the discourse right now?  Weak, very weak indeed.

No.  I mean all of it.  The abuse of power trial (for which she has now refused to testify), the questionable political affiliations, the connection to the famed Bridge to Nowhere, etc. The family stuff is part of it but certainly not all.

One of the phrases I've heard used several times to describe this has been "a botched rollout," and I couldn't agree more.  Because the whole point of vetting someone is to keep what is happening right now to Sarah Palin from happening at all. Hence:  either she wasn't vetted properly, or McCain's team is inept. QED.

Yes. Campaigning across America does help prepare you to lead. He learned first hand the issues and the people he will be leading.

I think she was busy in Alaska most of that time.

Yes, she was very busy being Governor of the largest state in the U.S.

How did Obama ever learn the issues and the people?  That blowhard Obama NEVER quit talking for one minute.

He's a just a refinement of the "community activist" that he's been all his vocational life.

TALKING to get the vote out for the Cook County Democrat Political Machine.

He's a professional pol.  A coat-holder.

And, a completely empty suit.

William Ayers and Rev. Wright ring any bells?  And I didn't see you bother to mention that she torpedoed the bridge to nowhere.  That project didn't die on it's own, but I'm sure you just "forgot" to mention that.  The family stuff is not "part" of anything unless you're a scumbag and equally willing to look into your own party's family problems.

So anyone running for office must have a perfectly manicured past with a policy history that the opposing party approves of?  You seem to think that because she isn't fit to run as a democrat she's not ready.  This garbage has nothing to do with "vetting" and everything to do with partisan hackjobs.

QED...not even close pal.

So Obama's special gift - his speaking style qualifies him to be President?

Adolph Hitler had a very special style of speaking too.

He enraptured audiences.

Led them right off the cliff into die Katastrophe.

The Catastrophy of Spring 1945.
