I'm a Jim's fan as well.

Based on other's recommendations, I tried Khalood's in the Shell station at 61st & Yale on Sunday.  It rocked!

There is also a mid-eastern deli just east of Yale on 51st.

I'm not a fan of that deli on 51st and Yale.

Try Cedar's and Shawkat's if you want Mediterranean.  I've wanted to try Khaloud's, but it's a bit outside my normal area.

As far as a real Greek place, we're lacking the real thing.  But the Greek festival is this weekend!

Don't miss this event! I love the food at the Greek festival. I've heard they've made some changes this year that will make this great event even better.

Who can afford it anymore?

Helen of Troy on Lewis and about 65th.  Great food.

I've been craving it lately, but we're supposed to be saving money. (so it can be eaten up by inflation, I suppose?)

Tabouli's on Main

Boo.  Well, it's OK.  They are from Iran, but they try and I always leave full.  I get my Mediterranean fix downtown from Pythian deli in the Pythian Building.

The Greek fest got rid of the pre-made dinner this year and they are doing more a la carte.  I think that should cut down on some of the wait time.

Gaspar, I have to disagree about Helen of Troy.  I've tried it twice and both times it was horrible.  The last time I had lamb and it was absolutely disgusting.

If you want to travel a bit, there is a tremendous Greek restaurant in Joplin, Mythos.
Someone get Hoss a pacifier.

Does Helen's have squid?  I still remember squid fried in olive oil from a trip to Florida 30 years ago.  That's some authentic Greek.

Speaking of Greek, does anyone know where to buy Gyros meat wholesale?  I'm a total Gyros junkie.

Man, totally.  Thanks for the reminder.  We'll be there for lunch and beers tomorrow.  Damn, almost missed it this year.

I think it's pretty average and over-priced.  And I don't think he's really Greek.  My wife digs it and she is Greek.
