anywho- the msw body is not as brown and hence, it is not as malty/caramely, the hp is creamier... the banana esters and citrus are similar... the msw is overall lighter and more crisp... and an excellent wheat beer...

Why don't you just go and try the MSW, instead of asking?  Everyone's beer snob pallate is different.

I need (not want, need) and MSW now. Is it beer o'clock yet?

It is somewhere.

Still out of Sundown, I thought Oktoberfest was only like a week long event. Did have pub ale though.  I also tried out Oscars like one of the other posters stated, and they did have it.  Though, I think there is an amount that I start to feel uncomfortable paying for a beer in Oklahoma; I think $6 would be that for me, even for the great Sundown.

inteller

then I guess you'd freak out at $22 for an imperial or russian stout.

One more thing... TulsaMINI - so long as Blue Moon is a 3.2 product and not full strength, it will only have limited engagements on draught. Please don't boo us, we're simply trying to provide the best selection we can - Hoegaarden is the beer Blue Moon tries to imitate, send me your e-mail address and I'll buy you a pint, it's an exquisite beer.

Awww, Elliot, don't sweat it. That wasn't a mean boo, it was just a tiny disappointed boo.

Blue Moon is made by Coors anyway. It's overrated IMO- there are much better beers out there.

I'm well aware of who makes it. Don't care. I like what I like. Perhaps my palette isn't quite as sophisticated as yours.

Just pointing out that there are more interesting true micro brews to put on tap that taste better- my opinion. I like what I like too- it wasn't meant to be a slam.

Yeah, that is pretty cool. I've never been to McNellies (sp?), but I'll make it a point to stop in and give them some of my business when I'm in Tulsa just because of their response on this forum.

FYI, I had Sundown wheat on tap at the Sound Pony one Saturday afternoon for $3 a pint.  Don't know if that's a happy hour special or not.  They had just opened for the day and I was the only one in there.

I believe Kilkenny's also has it on tap, might be a little less there.  T Oscar's pricing on everything is a bit absurd.

I have had it at Soundpony before on weekend night.  When does that place open for the day/night on the weekdays?

My understanding, and I could be wrong, is Sundown has been taken off tap at McNellie's to make way for the Oktoberfest beers. And Oktoberfest beers are usually available the whole month, not just a week. Hopefully, Sundown Wheat will be back on tap in a week or two. At least, that would make the wife happy (although she surprisingly liked the Pilsner).

2pm seems to be common with most bars around town.  Couldn't tell you for certain.

Soundpony kind of opens when they feel like it, I think.  The sign says something like 3ish or 4ish.  They have always been open when I've been there just before 5.

Tell 'em Conan sent you.  Won't get you a free beer or anything, but it will get you a blank stare.
