The 7th Annual Celebrate Freedom Big Band Hangar Dance and Aircraft Display presented by the Spirit of Tulsa Squadron of the Commemorative Air Force takes place at Tulsa Technology Center, Jones-Riverside Airport (91st & Elwood). Enjoy a day of family activities beginning with a display of historic aircraft and militaria from 10 am to 3 pm.  Rare military trainers and fighters, from WWII through Vietnam, will be performing exciting fly-overs.  The Oklahoma Motor Pool and Oklahoma Military Historical Association will be there in uniform with vintage WWII jeeps and trucks. A 1940s style movie theater will be showing newsreels, period cartoons and a full-length feature film.

Celebrate Freedom continues into the night with a 1940s Hangar Dance.  Hangar doors open at 5 pm for the Silent Auction, PX, and food sales.  A musical preshow features great local talent from 5:30-6:30 pm.  A patriotic salute begins at 6:30 pm with singers and local JrROTC groups. From 7 to 10 pm the 18-piece "Sounds of Music" orchestra and vocalists fill the hangar with 1940s music.  The dance floor gets hopping with swing dancers in period dress.  Every dance ticket gets reserved seating at a table. Dress is casual, military, or come dressed for the 40s. Tulsa Technology Center is handicap accessible and an alcohol and tobacco-free facility.
