At one point I heard this park was going to have a fountain that was an oil derrick that would "erupt" every now and then.  Am I crazy?  I drove by and failed to see such a thing last weekend.

The fountain is there and running. It was called a "gusher" fountain due to the varying height of the water but the only thing promised to be on top of it was an "oil themed piece of art" which is still planned and is being built by Shane Fernandez. It is not complete but a scale model of the art piece will be unveiled tomorrow. It is metal, glass, and (I believe) granite It looks very modern, while having the cross metal beam look and height similar to an oil derrick.

The Centennial Tree (large oak) was planted yesterday and the backpiece to the auditorium is still being built.
