Inteller is our resident crumudgeon.
It's hard being a Diamond in a rhinestone world.

Indeed, people cant help but be intrigued by such a sick individual and the possibility of redemption. Perhaps this Christmas, Inteller Scrooge will be visited by the ghosts of TN past, present, and future. He will see the folly of his ways and emerge a jolly figure, full of light, frivolity and merriment. [:D]

haha, you are the last person to be talking about redemption.

True, true. We practically perfect people have little reason to concern ourselves with such matters.

I really hope that was a joke!!!

I appreciate inteller: he is consistently snarky and usually his snark is amusing.

He ALWAYS amuses me!  Oh, and I understood from the beginning that his avatar was meant for all of you mean 'f-word' people who pick on him.  He may not agree with what I have to say, and if he doesn't, I'll know about it, but I don't care.  Maybe he's happy being cranky, oh well!

Yes, reread that and it did sound harsh. Poor choice of words. Definitely didnt mean Redemption in the Biblical sense, more like redemption as in release from, liberation from, recovery.

But... When you run across someone whose majority of posts are; mean spirited, cruel, negative, "put-downish", rarely offers positive solutions or alternatives, etc.  One has to seriously consider that the person is, not well. None of us is perfect, but the extent of his negativity seems to be so pervasive and intense that its hard to see it as something minor. If most of a persons thoughts and feelings are so negative, it has to impact their lives quite negatively as well. Who wouldnt want someone so wraught with negativity to become a more positive, happier person?

Wow, I find it shocking that you think someone whose lives a life, and has an outlook, that is so negative is amusing? Even if we were to somehow suppose that his comments all this time were intended as humorous jokes...It couldnt help but over time have a negative impact on the person writing them. Its shocking how consistantly negative this "jolly persona" is. Nobody could fake it that much. I dont buy it. You would have to at least worry about the person if you cared at all, nt think it was something to laugh at? You may think its a joke, but its a persons life! Part of the reason I think I am being so blunt and forward, is to make a loud point. I think he needs help. And if none of you all give a dang, fine. Go ahead ignore it, think it something minor and let him be that way for the rest of his life.

I haven't been here long, but I have read a lot of his posts and I find him to be on the intelligent side.  If any of you give a dang or care and think he needs help, why not contact him outside the forums?  Send him a message maybe?  If you guys meet outside of the forums for drinks or what not, why not ask him out and bring up the issue there instead of here?

I'm a woman and may seem a bit sensitive to the whole thing, but I felt like it was an attack on Inteller that could have served well outside of the forum.

When I made my comment about how I agreed with Carltonplace, I meant exactly what Carlton said, I appreciate Inteller.  I'm not negating the idea that Inteller might have an "issue."  That is none of my business until he invites me to make it my business.  I care for people more that any of you could ever know.  You may under estimate him.  He may be laughing his head off at all of you while he makes all the negative comments.  He seriously may be happy as a loon!  If he's not, he'll reach out sooner or later...but after this, it may not be to any of you.

Jess,

I certainly do think that he has insight into many areas and most of his comments are intelligent.  He often raises good points and has knowledge about the oil industry in Tulsa that is very helpful.  I'm not saying I dislike the guy because his internet persona is negative (never actually met his as far as I know).

It just gets annoying that he never, ever has anything positive to say about anything.  Even when prompted, he can't say one positive thing about Tulsa.

Generally, you can find something nice to say about everyone.

Hitler was very braze in WWI when he served as an ambulance driver.

John Wayne Gacy volunteered his time as a clown at St. Francis hospital.

El Paso has very nice sunsets.

There has to be something...

I crush grooves.

I feel like I'm reading a script for a Seinfeld episode! Inteller: "Uh, I'm standing right over here, guys"[:D]

He is what he is. In a few short, well chosen words the InMan can infuriate you, snark you, laugh at you and represent an entire south Tulsa white bread community which won't spend the time to volunteer its viewpoints. Its his role. It allows others to play off of it.

I like your style JesseT and look forward to your comments.

CF, it is uncanny how well Inteller plays his role without deviation. He has tremendous ego that is impervious to attack. A remark others would consider positive from him would ruin the play! It would be like Kramer actually getting a job.

Very well said.

We often do have TN meetups and events, though havent had many lately. I usually try to go, but I dont think I have ever seen Inteller at one of our get-togethers? Would love to meet him and get to know him better. Perhaps I am completely wrong and he is a happy, jolly, fellow with a very dry wit.

I havent really commented much on his negativity before. Several others have. And its never really bothered me,,, but recently lol. I guess its after you start to get worn down by its unending persistance over the course of a few years, it starts to grate a bit and you become very aware of it and start reacting more than perhaps you should to something that, by itself, is minor and insignificant. Its the all encompassing, never ending, nature of it that can get to ya. Again, its not just me seeing it.

But anywhoo, I have said my piece on the matter. Probably didnt say it in the most helpful manner as you rightly point out. However, its definitely been said and he is aware of how a some others, rightly or wrongly, see things. Its up to him. From now on I will go the other route and just see the comments as a version of humor/"snarkiness".

Hey inteller... up for a coffee sometime? [8D]

its not an attack.  At least I don't view it that way.  I view it as good local comedy.

I am sure the coffee would be too hot...or too cold...or too bitter...or the cup would not be full enough...or the waitress not fast enough...or the restaurant owner didn't come by...

inteller will find something to complain about.

Ta-Daaaaaa!!!!!

Guess what everyone???

I think (in my opinion) Inteller just met your challenge!  Not that I understand anything
about Netflix streaming or Xbox who's-it-what's-it, but almost every post he made was positive, informative and pleasant.
http://www.tulsanow.org/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=12156

In fact he started the first post seemingly excited and you can almost feel a tingle in your toes throughout the whole thread if you concentrate.  Sorry Inteller, I think I just blew your cover.

So, not to whip a dead horse or anything, but I think Inteller is cured:  He can have a positive moment or two every now and then!
