Saw on the news this morning that Fuji has all you can eat sushi for 9.99...anyone tried this deal out yet?

Conan71

I'm sorry, all-you-can-eat sushi sounds like a bad idea to me.  I guess it's possible to make it economical with oklahoma lake perch or "Krab".

Sushi is supposed to be about quality not quantity.

As I heard, the AYCE "starts" at 9.99. There are different tiers depending on what you want.

It's not a buffet, so if you've eaten there before, you know what you're getting.

Ahh Just called --9.99 - 24.99 But that is still a good deal and I think something Tulsa has needed. I went to a buffet style in Dallas and it was great...it was around 30.00. This isn't buffet style but you just order the rolls and go!

I always thought "Imitation Krab meat" was some kind of tuna doing stand up comedy impressions.

"Hey, I do a great crab."

Closest I get to sushi is tuna salad, but I thought the deal sounded familiar.

Fuji going "all you can eat"? I smell the death of a restaurant.

Nobu may be a d*ck but I think his restaurant doing "all you can eat" is an insult to his skills.

Wet Dream by Kip Adotta:

It was April the Forty-first, being a quadruple leapyear;
I was driving in downtown Atlantis.
My Barracuda was in the shop, so I was in a rented Stingray,
and it was overheating.
So I pulled into a Shell station; they said I'd blown a seal.
I said, "Fix the damn thing and leave my private life out of it, okay, pal?"

While they were doing that, I walked over to a place called the Oyster Bar.
A real dive. But I knew the owner; he used to play for the dolphins.
I said, "HI GILL!" (You have to yell, he's hard of herring.)

Chorus:
Think I had a wet dream, cruisin' through the Gulf stream.
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh. Wet dream.

Gill was also down on his luck.
Fact is, he was barely keeping his head below water.
I bellied up to the sandbar; he poured the usual: Rusty Snail, hold
the grunion, shaken, not stirred.
With a peanut butter and jellyfish sandwich on the side, heavy on the mako.
I slipped him a fin, on porpoise.
I was feeling good; I even dropped a sand dollar in the box for Jerry's Squids,
for the halibut.

Well, the place was crowded. We were packed in like sardines.
They were all there to listen to the big band sounds of Tommy Dorsal.
What sole. Tommy was rockin' the place with a very popular tuna,
"Salmonchanted Evening", and the stage was surrounded by screaming groupers,
Probably there to see the bass player.
One of them was this cute little yellowtail, and she was givin' me the eye.
So I figured this was my chance for a little fun.
You know, piece of Pisces.

But she said things I just couldn't fathom.
She was too deep, seemed to be under a lot of pressure.
Boy, could she drink. She drank like a...
She drank a lot.
I said, "What's your sign?"
She said, "Aquarium."
I said, "Great! Let's get tanked!"

Chorus

I invited her up to my place for a little midnight bait.
I said, "C'mon baby, it'll only take a few minnows."
She threw me that same old line: "Not tonight, I got a haddock."

And she wasn't kidding, either, cause in came the biggest,
meanest looking haddock I'd ever seen come down the pike.
He was covered with mussels. He came over to me; he said, "Listen, Shrimp.
Don't you come trollin' around here." What a crab.
This guy was steamed. I could see the anchor in his eyes.

I turned to him and I said, "Abalone! You're just being shellfish."
Well, I knew there was going to be trouble, and so did Gill,
cause he was already on the phone to the cods.
The haddock hits me with a sucker punch. I catch him with a left hook.
He eels over. It was a fluke, but there he was, lying on the deck,
flat as a mackerel, kelpless.

I said, "Forget the cods, Gill. This guy's going to need a sturgeon.
Well, the yellowtail was impressed with the way I landed her boyfriend.
She came over to me; she said, "Hey, big boy, you're really a game fish.
What's your name?"
I said, "Marlin."

Chorus

Well, from then on we had a whale of a time. I took her to dinner;
I took her to dance; I bought her a bouquet of flounders.
And then I went home with her.
And what did I get for my trouble? A case of the clams.

I think the all you can eat might keep them afloat..some peoples eyes are bigger than their stomachs..and going for 24.00 version and eating 12 bucks worth after the free miso soup might do the trick. I know that I will be eating there more now! PLUS the quality HAS TO BE THE SAME as the dinner service or they will get bad rap....right?

i think he should either close the 71st st location, or fire most of the hip hop thugs and sluts on the wait staff.  From the Lolita hostesses up front to the gangbanger wannabes in the back, that place needs an attitude adjustment.  we are very lucky that we get the same waitress every time we go that is very good, but I look around at the people supposedly on her team and I feel sorry for her.  It is a shame she has to share tips with those bums.

Went for lunch today..around 12:30 not a full house as I thought it would.

Service was ..sub par at the door. Japanese lady said "very backed up...long wait" there were maybe 10 tables full?

Get to table..told by waitress "there is a delay on getting food out"..okay no problem we have no where to go for a few hours..so she takes our drink order. We tell her that if they are slow we still want to get our fill and might be here past two and make that clear.

Two at our table ordered the second to last tier that didn't come with shashimi..but came with rolls and nigiri. Another at the party order the lowest tier that just came with a small number of roll choices.

You order by tiers and you get 2 rolls, and 5 pieces of Nigiri at a time which is plenty for me, my dining companion complained as he wasn't too into rolls but more into nigiri but had to take that(so really its a forces menu)...ate the first round.

Second round you are forced to order from a smaller set of choices for a refull - 1 roll and 3 pieces of nigiri at a time(keep in mind the kitchen is taking 15-20 mins between refills.

its now 1:50 and we order another round(this is the 4th round after waiting about 20 mins for our nigiri on a last order..and the waitress says that she "thinks they have stopped serving" I am stuffed...but another person at the table tells her he wants more nigiri and she basically said "well I think you might have had your fill...right?" Ummmmmm okay this is new I think to myself..so he tells her no, he explained to her that they were the ones being slow(very few customers now) and he just wants another round(its still before 2:00 keep in mind and they close at 2pm)...so she talks to manager and gets him another round.

Overall it was good quality, good choices but still they really try to go slow it seemed in order to help keep the orders down and perhaps wear you out from waiting for them to make more.

So if you DO go be prepared to spend at least 2 hours there to get your fill.

ALSO ON A NOTE - THEY HAVE A NOTE ON THE MENU - TIME LIMITED TO 90 MINUTES!! Which I think is strange as its all you can eat in 90 minutes in reality but I guess I really don't know how they could tell you that your done without being rude and pissing someone off"
