Saw an ad in the UTW for "Date Skate" on the ice at the BOK Center on Valentines day.

Sounds fun...but do you think the Oilers will loan me some pads?  It's been about 20 years since my last outing on the ice (not counting last week in the driveway), and I'd prefer some good, protective cushioning!

If there was a promise of body checking on that special day I'd bring my date and we'd be a hootin' and a hollerin' in the stands.

Considering the team the Oilers have fielded this year, the promise of body checking at any ice event might make even the most die-hard of Oiler fans to switch over.

That would mean more activity than during an Oilers game.

I recently went to an Oilers game and sat on the second row.  I have to say, it's much more fun if you sit down by the ice.  Flying pucks and guys getting slammed into the glass right in front of you make for a much more engaging sport!

Hey, me too.  A buddy of mine hooked me up with tickets right on the ice next to the penalty box.  My first hockey game - it was a riot!
TIP:  Do not set your beer on the rail!

Or anything else liable to spill for that matter.  I sit on the second row; my friend sits in the first and has lost sodas, beers, you name it.

I've never been outed.  At least not on the ice.
