Wasn't sure where to put this topic, and doubt this is even a political topic, but made sense to me to place this here.

What is with all the Native American television commercials for the different tribes?  Are we supposed to buy something?  What are these commercials promoting and how do the tribes get $$$ in exchange for their advertising dollar?

Just asking.  I'm truly puzzled.

Its image polishing time Wilbur. There has been damage done to their brand with all the bad press about gambling addictions, preferential hiring, tax free smokes, etc. The tribes need to keep goodwill among both the Native American population and us interloper Americans or they have reduced leverage when dealing with the government and potentially reduced sales.

By using likable, successful Native Americans to explain (spin?) their view of the tribes' contributions to the fabric of our community they hope to justify their business profits from trafficking in tobacco, fuel and gambling. No different than the the Pork Producers, the Poultry Association or R.J. Reynolds, or the rest of corporate America for that matter.
